Apart from your points in yesterday's Guardian, which I thought were clever in jumping the Kubler-Ross stages of Grief to Acceptance, I think that Trump's lack of knowledge and understanding of nuclear weapons in his 1st term was very concerning. He apparently did not know about the "nuclear triad", nor that using nuclear weapons on N Korea or disrupting hurricanes were very bad ideas. He seems to fail to understand that if a bully threatens you with a gun for your lunch money, the victim is liable to bring a gun to the next encounter, and possibly use it, a point you and others have made when threatening the use of terror weapons.

Unlike his first term, Trump has surrounded himself with incompetent yes-people. Hegseth seems bent on bringing the "rapture" to fruition, so I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted Trump to order a nuclear strike in the ME. I can only hope the military would disobey such an order and the cabinet invokes the 25th Amendment to prevent disaster.

I have just finished reading your brilliant book Not Buying It, written in 2004, and all the way through I've been thinking 'I wonder what Ms Levine thinks about the current administration in the US' and now I can find out. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
