Trump is accepting a $400 million super luxury Boeing 747-8 jumbo jet from the emir of Qatar, a country where nobody but the royal family has any civil or human rights.
After he leaves office, Trump will keep the plane.
By Valentine’s Day, the president’s family and companies had already received about $80 million in gifts and settlements of bogus lawsuits. Including in that amount was the $25 million Mark Zuckerberg paid Trump directly to settle a lawsuit alleging Meta had violated his free speech rights by suspending his account after the January 6 Capitol riot. Of that, a reported $22 million going to the presidential shrine—er, library.
It is unclear whether the library will contain any books, as the president has demonstrated that he is firmly against them.
Netflix paid Melania $40 million to participate in a hagiography of her.
Business leaders are forking over $5 million a head for an intimate dinner with the president at Mar-a-Lago or $1 million to dine with him in a group. If you can’t afford $5 million, you can show your appreciation by purchasing a Premium Bullet-Embedded Whiskey Glass Set, only $98 on Amazon, a commemoration of Trump’s miraculous assassination attempt survival.
This week, the president will travel to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, which just invested $2 billion in World Liberty Financial, another Trump family crypto-business. Between important diplomatic engagements, the president will check on the family’s multibillion-dollar real estate and financial interests in those countries.
Asked about the plane at a press conference Friday, White House propaganda minister Karoline Leavitt huffed: “I think it’s frankly ridiculous that anyone in this room would even suggest that President Trump is doing anything for his own benefit.”
